RED CROSS ASSISTING 10 FOLLOWING OVERLAND APARTMENT FIRE


The Red Cross is helping 10 people after an apartment building in the 9900 block of Broadmoor Drive caught fire.

OVERLAND, MO. - The Red Cross of Eastern Missouri is providing emergency assistance for 10 people following an apartment fire in Overland Tuesday night.

The assistance is being administered after an apartment building in the 9900 block of Broadmoor Drive caught fire.

The Red Cross will provide essentials, including food, clothing and shelter for the four families impacted by the blaze.

INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY INTO HOUSE FIRE IN OVERLAND


Firefighters fight blaze at home near Midland and Osgood.

OVERLAND - Firefighters fought a blaze that spread throughout a home in Overland early Sunday morning.

According to fire officials, the fire started in the back of a home where there was significant damage before moving to the front.

The incident happened at a house located near the intersection of Midland and Osgood. Authorities said the house is occupied, but no one was inside when the fire began.

Investigators are still searching for the cause of the fire.

FIERY CRASH ON PAGE SENDS WOMAN TO THE HOSPITAL

November 16, 2014 - KTVI

OVERLAND - A fiery accident in Overland Saturday night sent at least one person to a hospital. A FOX 2 viewer sent us cell phone video of the scene. It crash happened around 9:15pm at Page and Dielman near the Bucky�s BP convenience store.

Witnesses say a woman was speeding down Page, lost control of her car, and hit a utility pole. Her car caught fire.

Three fire departments responded. There's no word on her condition or any other injuries.

It is with deep regret that the West Overland Fire Protection District announces the death of Chief Joseph P. Schmidt. Chief Joseph P. Schmidt, 56, proudly served in United States Marine Corps, served 30 years with the Mehlville Fire Protection District where he was promoted to Deputy Chief in 2005, was presently the Chief of the West Overland Fire Protection District, a member of Missouri Task Force 1 and assisted during 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina, St. Louis Area Strike Team 3, Missouri Region C Incident Management Team and a member of the Missouri Mules. His service and passion to the community will be deeply missed.
